Swirls, scratches and haze

Paint Correction

Swirl marks, light scratches and dull paint polished out in stages, so the finish looks the way it did new.

01 / What this involves

Bring the shine back without taking too much off.

Paint correction removes the defects sitting in your clear coat: swirls from automatic washes, light scratches, water spots and haze. It is done in stages, measuring as we go, because the clear coat you keep is the budget for every future polish.

The finish ladder

Every correction climbs the same four rungs. Skipping one is how paint gets damaged instead of corrected.

  1. 01

    Assess

Read the paint: thickness, prior work, and which defects live in the clear coat versus below it.

  2. 02

    Test spot

One small area proves the combination of pad, compound and pressure before anything touches the whole car.

  3. 03

    Correct

Work in stages, measuring as material comes off, until the defects are gone or the clear coat says stop.

  4. 04

    Protect

A corrected finish is worth protecting. Sealant or ceramic coating is your call, and we will tell you what makes sense for the car.

What correction fixes

  • Swirl marks and wash scratches
  • Water spots, haze and oxidation
  • Prep before a ceramic coating

What correction cannot do

  • Scratches you can catch a fingernail in are usually too deep
  • Thin or previously polished clear coat limits how far we go
  • Results depend on the paint's history
